FATE is a small device, a highly sensitive sensor, which helps to detect falls of the elderly. The device is incorporated inside a belt which the patient wears around the clock. Thus, the detector identifies the users falls and locates where they are, whether at home or in the street.

This European project has a budget of about four million and a half euros and is coordinated by the UPC in collaboration with TicSalut, 061 CatSalut Respon, Clinic Hospital, the EAP Sardenya and the Catalan Institute of Health, Area of Primary Care Barcelona City as well as other research centers and companies in Italy and Ireland.
